Dear Father,

The blank
sent to me I recd this
morning. I was sworn
and had it filled out
as soon as I recd it.
By the Lieut of the
[Us. K] . Corps (K? Corps) . He is from
New York City (New York, New York) . Any one
would have thought
if they had seen the
mail I recd this
morning that I was
a man of business
Besides receiveing (receiving) the
blank, I recd a package
of Waverly and a letter
from Fannie Taft (Taft, Fannie) . About
150 more Rebel prisioners (prisoners)

came here this morning.
I did not learn from
what Department of
our army, they came from.
As for news I havent
any. I have nearly gained
my usual strength.
And get along very well
with my mess cooking.
I learned that Addie (Pearl, Adaline C.) got
the premium on her
Variety frame. at the Fair I am glad
she did. It will encourage
her to try again. A fellow
by the name of James Worden (Worden, James)
has called in and
he and a kitchen chum
by the name of Terry (Terry)
have gone to playing
chess which attracts my
attention so much that
I think I will bring this
to a close. Hoping this

will find all well I
bid you good night.
Love to all. Write soon

From your Son George W Pearl (Pearl, George W.) To
Geo A Pearl (Pearl, George A.) P.S.

I have subscribed
for the Waverly for six
months and as soon as
I have read them I
will send them home.
And I should like to
have them kept (and
all that I have sent)
in as good order as
possible as they make a
very good book. And if
I should return home
I could get them bound
if I wished
Yours Geo W. Pearl (Pearl, George W.)
