Feb. 26 - 1864. Dear Father (Welch, Luther)
I received your kind letter
nearly a week since but
have neglected
to answer it until now. I have nothing
to write about.
all I can say is that
I am in good health and getting
along after the
old sort. the war
news are good. I think this war
will soon be over.
probably ther (there)
will be one hard fought battle
but I hardly think there will
be
more than one real hard one.
have not heard anything
from
Philo (Philo)
yet. in fact have not heard
from any one latily (lately) for letters
have been scerce (scarce) with me.
I am still at my old place
the weather is warm and
spring
like. ecuse (excuse) this short letter for I
realy (really) can't write anything else my
love to all please let me hear
